Mrs. Gallagher
My name is Sarah Gallagher! I am a graduate of Meredith College with a bachelor's degree in Child Development and a K-6 teaching license. I am super excited to be teaching Kindergarten at Yates Mill Elementary School. Yates Mill caught my attention from the very beginning. I had heard so many wonderful things about this school including their supportive staff community and passion for providing a vigorous and meaningful education for all students. I just had to be a part of it!
My husband, Devin, and I love to go on walks, dancing, singing, and exploring new things Raleigh! I love going out to eat at places like Kanki, Panera Bread, and Chipotle. I enjoy crafts such as painting and love getting creative with my home and classroom!
I have always wanted to be a teacher. Growing up, I absolutely loved getting to teach others around me something new whether it was a different way to solve a problem, swimming, or even a fun new game. I was eager to become an educator and use my gifts, talents, and abilities to teach the future leaders of our world.
As an educator, I am passionate about building relationships with my colleagues, students, and families. In my classroom, we will build community. Students will explore their interests, be challenged daily, and have meaningful learning experiences. I will provide students with a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment that fosters a love for learning. Additionally, I value students as the whole child and my classroom will embrace all students, meet them where they are, and work as a team to learn.
“Teachers have three loves : the love of learning, the love of learners, and the love of bringing the first two together.” -Scott Hayden
