Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised right here in Raleigh! After graduating from Enloe High School, I went on to Appalachian State University to get my degree in Elementary Education. After graduating I came back home and taught 3rd grade at Cedar Fork Elementary in Morrisville. After teaching for a year I decided to spread my wings and moved all the way to Seoul, South Korea to teach English. Moving to South Korea gave me the chance to see and experience many different parts of the world. It also fed into my love of travel. After returning home once again, I found myself teaching at Cedar Fork for another 9 years. After that, the winds of change found me again and I landed here at Yates Mill. I am starting my 5th year at Yates Mill and my 15th year teaching in Wake County.
When I’m not at school, I love to relax by spending time with my family. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 9 years and we have 3 beautiful daughters. My oldest, Alleya, will also be in 2nd grade this year. Ayda is 2 years old and loves driving her big sister crazy! Our youngest, Amelia, is almost a year old and is trying her best to keep up with her sisters. My husband is coping very well being surrounded by all these ladies!
I have a true passion for teaching and love working with kids. While I taught first grade for 9 years, this year I have been given the opportunity to teach second grade. I have always heard what a wonderful year 2nd grade is for students, and I’m thrilled to see it for myself! I am so excited about starting this new adventure with your child!
