Hello! I am one of the Environmental Inquiry teachers and I am so excited to bring my love of the environment to the students here at LH!

I grew up around here and went to Cary Elementary, East Cary and graduated from Cary Senior High School! I packed my bags and went west to attend Appalachian State University for my undergrad in Elementary Education.  After that I taught K, 1st, and a 1-2 combination class in Burlington for a few years so I could attend graduate school for Reading at UNC-Greensboro. Then I headed to Charlotte where I taught 2nd and 3rd grade multi-age at Davidson Elementary. I moved to Fuquay to be closer to my family so I could spend time with my nephew and 5 nieces. Since I was close to UNC-CH, I decided to go to graduate school there for Mathematics! I worked at Farmington Woods IB before making the switch to LH 6 years ago.  I love our new environmental theme and am using that as an opportunity to continue my learning!

When I'm not with my friends and family you might find me at the library finding new books to read! I also enjoy spending time outside with my dogs, Rosie and Rocky. I usually have a bonus dog with me as well since I foster through Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue.

Ms. Stooks

My name is Christianne Stooks, and I am excited to be one of the Environmental Inquiry teachers at LHECMES! This is my 28th year in education, with 25 of those wonderful years spent here at LH. Most of my teaching career has been in first grade, though I have also taught second, third, and fifth grade, as well as served as our STEM coordinator.

I live in Holly Springs with my husband and family. Originally from Pittsburgh, I attended school in Cleveland.  Outside of school, I love spending time with my family(near and far), walking, watching hockey, and working in the garden.

I believe science is a powerful way to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and connect students with the world around them. I enjoy learning new things with the students especially when taking them outdoors, teaching through real-world issues, and creating hands-on learning experiences that bring science to life. If you ever have expertise to share—or simply want to join in our learning adventures—please feel free to reach out at cstooks@wcpss.net.
