If your child is suffering from allergies or has a cold, please send a pack of Kleenex with your child to use during testing.

Fitbits, Apple Watches and smart watches are not permitted in the testing room.  Cell phones are not permitted in the testing room.  Have students keep these items at home during testing.

  • Ms. Aman's Message for April 29

Posted by Kelly Aman on 4/28/2019 3:00:00 PM

School will be closed for students on Wednesday, May 1. It is a teacher workday. Students return to school on Thursday, May 2.

Students have explored the results of their recent benchmark assessments in ELA and math so they are aware of areas on which they need to focus as we move toward the conclusion of the school year and EOGs.  Please take a moment to ask your student how he/she did on each assessment and what goals he/she has for the rest of the year.  If you have specific questions about your child’s performance, reach out to your child’s ELA and math teachers.

Baseball plays Zebulon at home on Monday.  Softball plays at Pine Hollow on Monday.  Both baseball and softball play at home on Thursday.

Congratulations to Jessie Blalock who was celebrated as the PTA Volunteer of the Year at last Thursday’s Night of the Stars. PTA President Shawn Jackson and assistant principal Brandon Patterson joined Jessie and her husband for the fete!  We appreciate everything that Jessie does to support West Millbrook Magnet Middle School!

Congratulations GRIT 2019-20!  These young ladies entered the national video contest and WON a week long CYBERPATRIOT CAMP!  We are so proud of GRIT 2.0: Aracely Villareal Gomez, Kumba Jallow, Morgan McClendon, Chloe Wilson, Maddie Wild, MarMar Hodgson, Clare Schrieber, Cate Pierson, Sofia Valencia, Kasy Gonzalez, Elise Edmondson, Erin Cozzie, Morgan Graney, Avery Grantham!  #GirlsRockinTECH

FROM THE PTA: Attention eighth grade families! Please look for a VERY important letter that will come home with your eighth grader on Tuesday, April 23rd. This will be detailing all upcoming eighth grade activities such as the picnic, dance, and awards ceremony. Please also visit the sign-up genius link below. We are in need of many donated items and volunteers to make these fun events possible.

Attention sixth and seventh grade families! There are opportunities for sixth and seventh grade parents to help during the dance. It is tradition for the sixth and seventh grade parents to man the snack tables, etc. As you can imagine, most eighth graders do not want their parents to attend their formal dance! It’s very easy and actually quite fun!

This is the last week you will be able to complete the Wake County Public Schools districtwide family survey about you and your child’s experiences in our schools.

Parents or guardians with an email address on file in our school received an email from WCPSS & Panorama Education titled 2019 WCPSS Family Survey. This email contains a personalized link to survey for each school you have children enrolled in as students. Directions for completing the survey are included in the email.

If you still have not received an email from WCPSS & Panorama Education with your personalized link, you can utilize the West Millbrook Magnet Middle School general school link to complete the survey.

    https://surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/7709787757

*** This link will only provide data for West Millbrook***

Please take 10-15 minutes to complete each survey between now and May 3rd, 2019. If you have more than one child enrolled in the same school, please fill out one survey thinking about the experiences of your oldest student in that school. Your honest feedback is essential as we work to create the district, school, and classroom environments that are most supportive for our students.

We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey, please don’t hesitate to contact Jessica Collins, our survey liaison, at jcollins3@wcpss.net or 919-870-4050, ext. 24299.
