Congratulations and best wishes to our Year 3 students as the matriculate to high school!  And to all our Wildcat families, we wish you a restful and happy summer break!

Report Cards will be mailed from central office the week of June 24.

Huge thanks to the Wildcat PTA for your outstanding support of our end of year student activities at all grade levels!  In addition to hosting the Year 3 Dance and picnic, our PTA supported the Year 1 field trip and pizza party and Olympics and the Year 2 field trip and pizza party!  I want to specifically thank the many parents who decorated for the dance, manned the candy bar during the dance, cleaned up after the dance, met the vendors the following week to return items used at the dance, handed out hotdogs/chips/drinks at the picnic, supervised activities at the picnic, chaperoned field trips and did all the many things that nobody saw that made things run smoothly for our students as they concluded another year!  THANK YOU!!!!

Congratulations to Blair Allen (Year 2, graphite pencil) and Oren Adams (Year 3, watercolor and pen) whose artwork was selected in the City of Raleigh Micromobility contest.  Blair and Oren will have their artwork posted digitially at bike charging stations in downtown Raleigh!

Wednesday, June 12 is the last day of the 2023-24 school year!  It’s been a great year and I wish our students and their families a happy summer!

THANK YOU PTA!  Our Year 3 students enjoyed a fantastic Starry Night thanks to the generosity of our PTA.  This year’s Year 3 Dance was a wonderful event, enjoyed by all.  Our PTA funds this dance entirely, and it marks the first of many end of year celebrations for our 8th graders as they conclude their middle school years!  Special thanks to the moms and dads who showed up Friday afternoon to transform our cafeteria into an event venue and to those that came afterwards to clean up!  I am especially blessed by our parents and PTA.

Year 3 Chromebook return:  All Year 3 students must return their Chromebooks and chargers before the last day of school. This is necessary for them to receive a new Chromebook in high school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Shortley at vcshortley@wcpss.net.

Library books:  Library books are past due.  Please remind your student to bring back all library books before the end of the school year. EOG/EOC testing continues this week. Make ups may continue past June 7 if students are absent.

I am so proud of our students for the effort they demonstrated last week during testing.  Students were focused and took time to do their best!  It was great to see and hear how confident they felt after testing when I was with them in the cafeteria!

    Important Information about EOG/EOC Testing:

    • Students are expected to bring their charged Wake County Chromebooks and their charger on testing days. All testing will be online and personal computers are not permitted.
    • We are not permitted to interrupt the testing setting and are not able to check students out until school-wide testing ends at approximately 12:30 each day. This includes all students on campus, even if they are not testing that day.
    • As you are planning appointments for your child, you will want to consult the testing schedule.
    • Fitbits, Apple Watches, airpods and smart devices and watches are not permitted in the testing room.  Have students keep these items at home during testing.
    • Cell phones must be turned off and put away for the entirety of the testing session
