• Media Center

    Overview

    The Media Center is the focal point in our instructional program. Maximizing the use of the media center resources requires the cooperation of all RHS community members. The atmosphere in the Media Center will maintain to be conducive to student learning. The Media Center staff reserves the right to prohibit facility use to students who choose not to conform to the Media Center and/or RHS guidelines and expectations. 

    Hours

    The Media Center will be open during school days at 7am for student use at the discretion of the RHS Administration and Media Center staff. Please see media staff for availability of after school hours. 

    Overdue Fines

    Books and Magazines: $0.05/ per day

    Food for Fines Program: Students that owe overdue fines for books from RHS can donate a canned/ boxed food item for the Back Pack Buddies program and have fines cleared. This program is exclusive to RHS book fines. 

    Lunch

    Students are permitted to utilize the Media Center during their assigned lunch period for studying or school-related work. NO food or drinks are allowed within the RHS Media Center. Admission to the Media Center during lunch is at the discretion of the RHS Media Staff and Administration. Students will sign-in during their assigned lunch period. 

    Use of Media Center

    While classes are in session, students must either be with their teacher or have a signed pass from their current teacher to use the Media Center. Due to limited space in the RHS library, access to the library use may not be granted to students who are coming during times when classes are assigned in the Media Center. 

    Circulation

    Books may be checked out for three (3) weeks and can be renewed one time for an additional three (3) weeks. Certain textbooks may be checked out for one (1) day. Magazines may be checked out for one (1) week. 

    Student Email

    WCPSS will provide an email account for all high school students. The WCPSS student email account should be the only method of electronic communication between students and teachers. 

    Computers

    The Media Center has computers available for student use to perform various computer applications to complete assignments or research. Computer use in the Media Center is for academic/school-related purposes only. Students who purposely change computer settings or tamper with system access/software, damage equipment, access inappropriate websites, and/or use their email in an inappropriate way are subject to disciplinary action including loss of computer access, revocation of internet privileges and/or paying for damages. 

    Printing

    Students may print up to 5 one-sided pages daily. Please see media staff for any other printing questions. 

    Internet Use

    Internet use in the Media Center is for academic/ school-related purposes only. Improper use of the internet may result in disciplinary action according to WCPSS guidelines.
