Stack of Books Another Successful DonorsChoose Grant

Hooray! More books will be on the shelves soon! Our DonorsChoose grant for classics has been funded. In September, students expressed an interest in having a separate classics section so Mrs. Jensen and the library aides have been busy working on making that happen. Look for a brand new section coming soon!

Out with the old and in with the new! Lots of new books are moving in and older ones are being retired. Spring cleaning has also occurred with old, non-functioning technology. Mrs. Jensen and the library aides have been busy sprucing up the library. By the end of April, it should look like a dream!

Bouquet of flowers Spring is Here

With daffodils blooming and trees flowering (and who can forget the green pollen) spring is certainly here! Here are some of the things going on in the library over the next few months:

Ligon's Annual Library Reading Challenge: Want your name on the Library Wall of Fame? Pick up a Ligon Reading Challenge booklet to track your progress. The challenge?  Read 10 books that match prompts all related to the color blue. Read all 10 and get your name on the wall. The challenge is ongoing for the remainder of the school year.

Library March Madness: Students competed in a literary match-up of their favorite titles. The winner this year was Heartstopper: Volume 1 by Alice Oseman.

April marks Ligon's 70th anniversary and the library is celebrating with a display showcasing yearbooks from yesteryear.

May is Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Make sure to check out a book from the entrance display to celebrate it!
