Welcome back to the new school year! Our focus this year is making even more of an effort for all of our students, families, and staff to feel a sense of belonging in our school community. Our PME community thrives when we all feel a sense of belonging—when we all feel we have a place, voice, identity, and purpose! As an Interactive Community Magnet School, that is the driving factor that makes us stand above all the rest—BELONGING!

2024-2025 Meet the Teacher Grades 1-5 

Please plan to drop in between 12 and 2 pm on Thurs, July 18th, to meet your child's teacher for the 24-25 school year. We look forward to seeing you. Interpreters will be available for this event.

 

2024-2025 Meet the Teacher Kindergarten

Kindergarten Meet the Teacher will be held on Fri, July 26th, from 9 to 10 am. This event is for Kindergarten families only. An interpreter will be available.

 

Kindergarten Students - Staggered Entry

Kindergarten students will attend school only ONE day during the week of July 22nd. If you are unsure of the day your child should attend, please do not hesitate to contact PME. Kindergarten students will begin school daily beginning on July 29th. 

 

PTA Membership

Please join/renew your PTA membership to support our school. Membership dues are ONLY $12, which covers the entire family and can be paid via the online store. Once you join, you will receive the MONDAY MORNING MEMO with all the latest PTA information.

Kindergarten Parents/Students: Popsicles on the Playground

Please join the Kindergarten team on July 16th from 3:30–4:30 pm to enjoy the playground, meet staff, and cool down with a treat. This is an excellent opportunity to meet parents and for your child to begin developing relationships with their peers. 

 

Medications

Please bring any student medication to the office with a completed and signed 1702 form beginning on Tues, July 16th. This will avoid waiting in line, as the first week of school is hectic. Thank you!

 

Supply Lists

You can access school supply lists on the PMES website under the grade level of your child. Click on the Student tab and scroll to the Supply List tab. Please have your child bring supplies on the first day of school.  Supply List Link 

 

Transportation

Please be sure your child is registered for bus transportation. You must complete the request process each school year if you request an alternate stop.

Before/After School Care 

If you are interested in your child attending the Before/After School programs, registration will be held from 10 to 12 pm on Thurs., July 18th, in the multipurpose room. Program information is on the PME website under the parent section tab. Registration fills up quickly. Please email dhardy@wcpss.net with any specific questions. A check or money order for $15 per program sign-up is required. Cash can not be accepted.
