Principal's Weekly Message
Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
It was a great final school week for 2024! Our students were very festive with spirit week and worked hard to get assignments & assessments complete prior to their winter break.
The Middle Creek HS main office will be closed next week and through the holidays. We will reopen on January 2nd for families and students that may need to stop by. Students will report back and classes will resume on January 6th.
There is not a lot of new information for my message this week, but I have continued to link some reminders below to make sure you are prepared for the wrap to the semester. I appreciate your attention to all of the details!
Information & Reminders:
Final Exam Information:
Final exams for first semester classes will be held on-campus on January 13th-17th. Students will be taking either teacher-made exams or a state exam (CTE or EOC courses). Reminder, that final exam participation is required unless you are a 12th grader that has earned exemption status for a particular course. Final exams will count for 20% of the final course grade. The schedule for final exams is provided below and will be reviewed with students in their classes on January 9th.
**Most students will not report to campus on Friday, January 17th unless they have to make up for an exam missed earlier in the week.

Gifts of Gratitude:
Thank you so much to all the families and community members who contributed gift card prizes for our festivities this week. The staff had a wonderful time with the various games and were so appreciative of each and every prize! Here are few pictures of their smiling faces with their wins!
Information from Student Services:
State Employees Credit Union People Helping People Scholarship
The application for the SECU People Helping People Scholarship has now been posted on the MCHS Scholarship Listing and in all senior counselor Canvas classrooms. Students who are members of the SECU or are eligible for membership through their parents can apply for this $10,000 scholarship. Please read the information at this link carefully as the application process takes several days to complete. Finalized application packets must be emailed to Mrs. Gillespie at tgillespie2@wcpss.net by February 14, 2025.
Scholarship Reporting for the Class of 2025
We are excited to recognize Seniors who have been offered a scholarship at our Senior Awards Night this May. Please email any scholarship offers to Mrs. Morris at jmorris@wcpss.net. Scholarships can be academic, athletic, arts, or community-based and students do not need to attend the college in order for us to include that in our listing. Last year’s class earned the largest total in MCHS history with over $18 million dollars and we want to see if we can repeat or even beat that total with the Class of 2025!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break and enjoy some time with family and friends. I look forward to a fabulous 2025 and we will see you back on January 6th!
Sincerely,
Lacey Peckham, Principal
