Principal's Weekly Message
Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
I hope our students and families had a wonderful Halloween! Our community Trunk or Treat was a huge hit on Wednesday night, so thank you to all the students who presented games/trunks, families who attended, and parents who donated candy to make it happen. We had a great time and it is a wonderful tradition!
Tomorrow we begin the 2nd Quarter, followed by a teacher workday on Tuesday. Grades are being finalized this week by teachers and report cards will be coming home on Friday.
Below are a few reminders and items for the week. I appreciate your attention to all of the details!
Information & Reminders:
Yearbooks On Sale!
Yearbooks are still available for order! Go to yearbookordercenter.com and enter code 10474 to get yours. After signing in, parents of seniors can also design and submit an ad tribute for their senior to be included in the yearbook. Please email Mr. Williams at pwilliams@wcpss.net with any questions.
Attendance Reminders:
As we head further into the first semester, I want to highlight the importance of consistent school attendance. Students must be in regular attendance to do their best work in school. School Board Policy 6000 states, "The Board recognizes that a positive correlation exists between regular attendance and achievement. Therefore, regular attendance is required." Additionally, there are attendance expectations that must be met to maintain privileges (like parking and lunch passes), and earn exemption status as seniors.
When the need for an absence exists, it is imperative that the student returns to school with a note from his/her parent or guardian providing an explanation for the absence and the signature and daytime contact information of the parent or guardian.
If a student has excessive absences it will likely impact their mastery of content and ability to be successful in the class. Teachers, administrators and counselors will be monitoring attendance. More details can be found in the Student Hub linked here and on our website.
Information from Student Services:

On November 13 at 6 pm, Student Services will host our Freshman Parent Meeting. Come learn about graduation requirements, calculating GPAs, selecting courses, and planning over the next four years. We hope to see you there!
