Principal's Weekly Message
Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
It was another great week here at The Creek. Students had their first Mustang Moments Choice Activity time this week, we had our Powder Puff game, and clubs shared information at our annual Club Fair. October is a very busy month and we are only a few weeks away from the end of the First Quarter if you can believe it! Next week we have a teacher workday on Monday, and our building (and Main Office) will be closed as we have contractors wrapping up a few projects and working on our generator.
Below is some additional information and items for your calendars. I appreciate your attention to all of the details!
Information & Reminders:
Tuesday, October 15th- Special Schedule:
On Tuesday we will be facilitating two large scale test settings on-campus. All of our 10th grade students will be taking the PreAct (no registration required). Additionally, we will be administering the PSAT test to students in 9-11th grade who have registered. Because almost half of the student body will be testing that day we will be running on an adjusted schedule. We believe this alternate schedule will allow us to accomplish the testing responsibilities, ensure there are minimal disruptions and also help manage the coursework for so many students who will be in a test.
Students who are not testing will report to their first block class and will then remain there for the day. In this location, they will complete asynchronous assignments for all of their teachers/classes throughout the day. Students will go to lunch on a modified schedule, and those students with off-campus lunch privileges will still get to utilize their privilege that day as well.
We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding as we accomplish these various tasks.
*Just a reminder that all students testing on Tuesday need to bring their charged chromebook to test. Any students not knowing where their test location is may check in with their teacher and/or find a staff member on Tuesday morning for support.
Juniors & Seniors- National Honor Society Applications:
The NHS invitation to apply emails have been sent. So, Juniors and Seniors with a GPA of 3.8 and above should have an email from Ms. Taylor giving details about how to apply. If you did not get the email and feel you should have, please contact Ms. Taylor at ktaylor2@wcpss.net. The deadline for the application is Oct 13 end of day.
