Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families, 

 

It was a great first week of October here at The Creek! With the break in schedules over the last few weeks, it will be nice to have our students for a full five day week next week as we head deeper into the first quarter. On Wednesday, October 9th, we will be hosting our annual Club Fair during both lunches.  We will have over 30 clubs represented, so make sure to remind your students to swing by to pick up information on how to get connected and involved.

Information & Reminders:

MCHS Spirit Night:

Join Us for Spirit Night Wednesday, October 9th, at Dairy Queen in Fuquay-Varina from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A portion of all sales during this time will be donated back to the MCHS PTSA, so bring your family and friends out for a sweet treat or dinner, and help support our school!

 

PreACT for all 10th graders!

The upcoming PreACT test is scheduled to take place on Tuesday,  October 15th. Please take note of the following important details:

Test Date and Time: The PreACT will be administered on Tuesday, October 15th.

Calculator Usage: Students are allowed to bring their own 4-function, scientific, or graphing calculator for the test. Alternatively, they can borrow one from their Math teacher on the test day if needed, but please have your student speak with their Math teacher prior to make arrangements. 

Chromebook: Students need to bring their school issued Chromebooks to school the day of testing.

Testing Room Locations: Upon arrival at school, students are to proceed directly to their assigned testing room. Posters displaying testing locations will be placed around the commons area for your child's reference.

Questions and Clarifications: Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding the PreACT test, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Scicchitano at kscicchitano@wcpss.net. She will be more than happy to assist you.

 

Juniors & Seniors- National Honor Society Applications:

The NHS invitation to apply emails have been sent. So, Juniors and Seniors with a GPA of 3.8 and above should have an email from Ms. Taylor giving details about how to apply. If you did not get the email and feel you should have, please contact Ms. Taylor at ktaylor2@wcpss.net

The deadline for the application is Oct 13 end of day.

Yearbooks On Sale!

Yearbooks are still available for order! Go to yearbookordercenter.com and enter code 10474 to get yours. After signing in, parents of seniors can also design and submit an ad tribute for their senior to be included in the yearbook. Please email Mr. Williams at pwilliams@wcpss.net with any questions.

 

Information from Student Services: 

Parent Information Night in Spanish

On Wednesday, October 9, we will host Parent Information Night at 6 pm in the MCHS Media Center. We will have a Spanish interpreter available for our Spanish-speaking families to learn about promotion and graduation requirements, academic resources for high school, and college and career planning opportunities for students.

 

Junior College Night Panel

All Juniors and their families are invited to our Juniors College Night on October 23 at 6 pm in the MCHS Auditorium.  College Admissions Advisors from UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte, ECU, Campbell, Wake Tech, and other universities will be present to answer questions about the college admissions process. Come and find out information straight from the source about test-optional policies, scholarship opportunities, advanced/AP course work, world language requirement changes, and more! While this evening is geared towards juniors, all grade level students and families are welcome to attend. College Night Flyer
