Principal's Weekly Message
Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
I hope that all our families have been able to navigate this inclement weather safely. It was not the finish to the week that we had planned for, but I am grateful that everyone got to ride out this weather in the safety of their homes, and hopefully better weather is on the horizon.
Because all events for today (Friday) are canceled, the football game and Homecoming recognitions will not be happening as originally planned. The game and court announcement has been rescheduled to Monday with game time starting at 6:30pm.
Our annual Homecoming Dance, however, is still planned to occur tomorrow night (Saturday, Sept. 28th) from 8:00-10:00 pm with the theme of Tropical Paradise. Students interested in attending must buy a ticket by 8:00pm tonight. Just visit Go Fan→ and search Middle Creek High School, then select—> Homecoming. Students will need to show this ticket and an ID at the door to get into the Dance. (Reminder that this dance is only for MCHS students only.)
We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow night at the dance and again on Monday night at the rescheduled game!
Below is additional information for next week. I appreciate your attention to all of the details!
Information & Reminders:
Quarter 1 Progress Reports:
Reminder that progress reports came home earlier this week for all classes. If you didn’t see them, powerschool gradebook should be up to date as well. Just a reminder that after this half-way point, any unexcused missing/late work from the first 4 weeks will need to be turned in by Oct. 4th, if they would like to still receive partial credit.
Information from Student Services:
Social, Emotional & Behavioral Health Universal Screener Info Coming Home Monday
Students will receive information and an opt-out letter from their second block teacher on Monday about the 2024-2025 Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Health Universal Screener process used by WCPSS at Middle Creek High School this year. Please look over the letter or this link for further information. Parents who prefer that their student not be a part of this schoolwide process should sign the opt-out letter and have your student turn it in to their second block teacher by Friday, October 4.
Junior College Night Panel
All Juniors and their families are invited to our Juniors College Night on October 23 at 6 pm in the MCHS Auditorium. College Admissions Advisors from UNC Chapel, ECU, Campbell, Wake Tech, and other universities will be present to answer questions about the college admissions process. Come and find out information straight from the source about test-optional policies, scholarship opportunities, advanced/AP course work, world language requirement changes, and more! While this evening is geared towards juniors, all grade level students and families are welcome to attend.
Seniors- Class of 2025:
Senior Aerial Photo -
We have rescheduled the Senior Class of 2025 Aerial photo, taken on the football field, for Wednesday, October 2nd at the start of second block. Students will report to their second block class and then be dismissed to the football field with an announcement. This is a great group picture each year and we are hopeful the weather cooperates!
