Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families, 

 

I hope that all our students had a great week and that they are enjoying this longer weekend. Next week is a big week for us, as it is Homecoming! We will have spirit days each day, calendar linked here. There will also be a pep rally on Friday, Sept. 27th during 4th period for students. Additionally, our annual Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, Sept. 28th from 8:00-10:00 pm with the theme of Tropical Paradise.  This dance is for Middle Creek High School students only and students interested in attending must buy a ticket in advance by visiting Go Fan→ and searching Middle Creek High School, then selecting Homecoming.  Students will need to show this ticket and an ID at the door to get into the Dance. It is going to be a fun week and we look forward to strong student participation in the festivities.

Quarter 1 Progress Reports:

Progress reports will be coming home for all classes next Wednesday, Sept. 25th.  This is a great opportunity to check in with your student about how things are going at the midpoint of the first 9 weeks.

 

Yearbooks On Sale!

Yearbooks are now available for order! Go to yearbookordercenter.com and enter code 10474 to get yours. After signing in, parents of seniors can also design and submit an ad tribute for their senior to be included in the yearbook. Please email Mr. Williams at pwilliams@wcpss.net with any questions.

UNC System Merit Scholarship Information

Families who are interested in learning more about merit scholarships at five of North Carolina’s largest public schools should plan to login to one of two virtual presentations in the next few weeks. During these sessions, program representatives will give an overview of each scholarship, discuss general scholarship search advice and hold a live Q&A to answer your questions. You will be able to learn more about the Levine Scholars Program at UNC Charlotte, the Park Scholars at NC State, the Cheatham-White Scholarship Program at NC A&T and NC Central, and the Brinkley-Lane Scholars at East Carolina. Programs will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 2, 6:00 p.m. Register at this link.

 

East Carolina University Free College Application Week

ECU’s Free College Application Week is next week, Sept 23-27. Students can apply via the ECU application on the ECU website, the Common App, or CFNC without paying the application fee.  If students are considering the Honors College, they should take advantage of this free app week because the Honors College application deadline is October 15. While ECU will also participate in CFNC's Free App Week October 21-27, the CFNC free app week falls after the October 15 Honors College application deadline.

 

Parent Information Night in Spanish

On Wednesday, October 9, we will host Parent Information Night at 6 pm in the MCHS Media Center. We will have a Spanish interpreter available for our Spanish-speaking families to learn about promotion and graduation requirements, academic resources for high school, and college and career planning opportunities for students.
