Principal's Weekly Message
Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
I hope everyone has had a great last week of Summer! We have welcomed our staff back tot he building this week and we are excited to officially start the 2024-2025 school year with students on Tuesday! There is a lot of important information below, to help you feel prepared for the start of school.
I appreciate your attention to all of the details.
Information & Reminders:
First Day of School Information:
Students will be allowed into the building starting as early as 6:55 on Tuesday. Upon arrival (between 6:55-7:25), they may either get breakfast in the cafeteria or hang out in the commons, until 7:05 when they can head straight to their first period class. If they have not already seen their schedule (via powerschool), staff will be available throughout the building to help them look it up and get them to their correct 1st period class. Once there, they will get a printed copy to follow for the day.
Transportation:
Bus:
All bus routes should have been assigned via Powerschool on August 16th. They can be found under the “transportation” tab in the students PS account. Parents should have also received an email with detailed route information that Friday. Your student should plan to be at their bus stop a few minutes early, especially the first few days, as the drivers learn new routes and traffic patterns. Contact transportation customer service at 919-805-3030 if you have questions.
Carpool:
All students using carpool should use the FRONT LOOP ENTRANCE to the school. Students should NOT be dropped off in the staff parking lot, or near the community center. Not only is this a safety issue, but many of those properties are not a part of MCHS and our community partners need those spaces free for their own needs/traffic. Please plan to come early, but not prior to 6:55am. Reminder, that 1st period begins at 7:25 and dismissal is at 2:18.
Student Drivers:
Student drivers may only use assigned spots in the student lot. Parking in any other areas may lead to ticketing or towing. This includes the community center, the public library or the baseball field.
Review of school rules & expectations:
As we prepare for the school year, please take a few minutes to review some of the procedures and school-wide expectations we will be sharing with students. More will continue to be shared and you can always visit our online student handbook, the “Student Hub” on our MCHS Website, under the “Student” tab.
Dress Code: Link to full details here. Please help us by ensuring your student meets the dress code criteria for WCPSS. Any student not adhering to the dress code will be required to change.
Lunch Procedures: Link to details here. Students have designated areas for lunch. Please keep in mind that only juniors and seniors with lunch passes may leave campus for lunch, and must show their pass daily.
Lunch Passes:
Forms for lunch passes can be found on the MCHS website under the “Students” tab of the red bar at the top). There is a $10 fee to make the pass, and payments can be made via the MCHS website. Reminder, this is a junior and senior only privilege.
*Students who were not able to pick up this past week, can plan to get their ID made the second week of school after-school.
Apply for free and reduced-price school meals
To receive free or reduced-price meals for the 2024-25 school year, families must submit a meal benefits application online at MySchoolApps.com. Paper copies will be available at your school’s office. For families who completed the 2023-24 meal benefits application, the benefit continues for their student's first 30 school days of the 2024-25 school year. Check out school menus on Mealviewer.
Visitor check-in system:
To continue to provide safe learning environments, all schools have upgraded their visitor check-in system to a district-wide Visitor Management System. The new system will verify all school visitors and check the Sex Offender Registry for potential matches. View details of what to expect when visiting your child’s school.
Message from the MCHS PTSA:
Purchase a “Home of a Mustang” yard sign from the PTSA. Your purchase helps fund essential programs, events, and initiatives for our students and teachers. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to celebrate and display your Mustang spirit in your own front yard!
The MCHS PTSA Appreciation Committee needs your help with donations and volunteers for the upcoming Meet the Teacher Staff Dinner on Thursday, September 5th. To support this event please see our Meet the Teacher Staff Dinner SignUp Genius.
Thank you for supporting the MCHS PTSA!
Spirit Night to Support the MCHS Band Program!
Come out and support MCHS Band Spirit Night at Manhattan Pizza on Wednesday August 28 anytime from 4-8pm. Our MCHS band program will receive a portion of the sales during that time. Thank you for your support!
Information from Student Services:

Students are now able to see their schedules in power schools for the 24-25 school year.
