Principal's Weekly Message

Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week! It was awesome having our new 9th grade students on campus yesterday, and we are excited to kick off this school year in just a little over a week!

Below are & calendar items and information for your consideration as the school year approaches.

Information & Reminders:

Schedules:

Students are now able to view schedules in PowerSchools at this time. MCHS works hard each year to create schedules based on courses chosen during registration. Therefore, schedule changes are only allowed for certain reasons. Requests for changes should be submitted to the MCHS Schedule Change Request email account following these procedures

Freshman Orientation Presentation and Handouts

Thanks so much to all of those who were able to join us for Freshman Orientation! It was great to see the Class of 2028 explore their home for the next four years! * Also, if your student was unable to attend the 9th grade orientation, but they would still like the chance to acclimate to the building, there is another optional opportunity. On Monday, August 26th students may visit us between the hours of 11-1 to informally walk the building and locate their classrooms. Teachers and staff will be in meetings and unavailable, but we wanted to provide a second opportunity to visit in case it is helpful.

2024-2025 Juniors & Seniors:

As we prepare for the school year, it is now time to make plans for parking and off-campus lunch, as well as  other privileges & events offered to our juniors and seniors. Below are some specific details about dues, parking and lunch passes.

Class Dues:

As we gear up for the school year, it is important that our junior and senior class students are reminded of class dues to support grade level activities and functions.

Junior dues cover events such as prom (including the student’s tickets to both Junior and senior prom).  Senior dues cover events such as the senior picnic, graduation, and other senior activities.

Below are the dues for each class, and families can begin making payments on July 18th in the OSP system linked on the website.

Class of 2025- $40 (Senior Dues)

Class of 2026- $40 (Junior Dues)

Parking Passes:

Forms are available on the MCHS website (under the “Students” tab on the red bar at the top). There are several steps to applying, and all pieces must be completed to receive a parking pass. Spot locations will be determined based on order of payment (with completed documents and no existing fees). If families are unable to print any of the forms, you may stop by the main office during summer hours to pick them up. If you have any questions, you may contact Ms. Sullivan at jsullivan2@wcpss.net.

Lunch Passes:

Forms for lunch passes can be found on the MCHS website under the “Students” tab of the red bar at the top).  There is a $10 fee to make the pass, and payments can be made via the MCHS website. Once the notarized form is completed, the dates below are listed for pass & photo pick-up.  (Reminder, this is a junior and senior only privilege.)

August 20th: 8:00-12:00pm

August 22nd: 8:30-10:30; 12:00-1:30pm.

*Students who are not able to attend this day for pick up, can plan to get their ID made the first week of school after-school.

Seniors:

Senior Transcripts:

We are aware that some college applications have opened up for Seniors to begin working on them and we are glad that they are on top of this! PowerSchools is a great resource for historical grade information and weighted GPA. We ask that seniors wait until school starts to request unweighted GPA and class rank information as this is not ready until the 20th day of school when the official class rank is run.  Seniors should not upload/request any previous transcripts before this date as the rank information will not be accurate. Counselors will discuss this further in Senior Meetings during the first few weeks of school and at our Senior Parent Night on September 9 at 6:00 pm.

Below are some of the events scheduled for next week.
