This is it! Our final week and last three days of the school year. What an adventure it has been together!

Quick Updates/Reminders:

Medication Pickup: If your student has medication in the health room, please pick it up by the last day of school. An adult must pick up all medications from school. Medications not picked up 10 business days after the last day of school will be disposed of by the nurse. Any questions, please contact Heather Smith (hwsmith@wcpss.net)
Staff Updates
As we arrive at the end of the school year, it is bittersweet to acknowledge several cherished staff members that will be leaving White Oak Elementary School. Their contributions have been invaluable, and they will be greatly missed by the students and colleagues of the Explorer community. Please join us in wishing them all the best in their future endeavors. The following individuals will be transitioning to new paths:

Field Day Details
We are finishing off the school year with some Field Day fun! Coach Hughes and I are wrapping up the final details and resting up for those early morning setups, but it is worth it to see all the smiles and laughter on Field Day. Please make sure your student is ready for the day by checking out the information below.
DATES:
- Monday, June 10 (Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades)
- Tuesday, June 11 (3rd, 4th & 5th grades)
TIME: 9:30am - 1:00pm
WHAT TO BRING:
- Towel
- Complete change of clothes
- Water Bottle (Place tape with name and teacher name)
- Sunscreen (Parents - please apply before students come to school)
- Optional: Hat or Sunglasses.
Students MUST wear sneakers for this event, since many of the activities will require running, jumping, and dodging. (Flip flops, Crocs, and sandals are NOT recommended for the morning, but would be fine for after the event.)
Field Day Parent Volunteers
The Field day sign up is full Monday’s Field Day (K-2) but you are still welcome to come and help out. There are still some volunteer spots open for Field day with our 3-5 grade students if you are interested. Click link Here
Volunteers should arrive between 8:45-9am on the day. Please sign-in at the main office and then proceed to the gym to pick station assignments and receive instructions. All parent volunteers will need to be at their station by 9:20, so we are ready for the kids at 9:30am. Remember to wear comfortable clothing for the weather and bring some water.

Summer Activities
Mrs. Overton has put together a calendar of fun, local activities that are free or low cost. If you have any other ideas, feel free to send her a TP message or email.
Wake County has also created a list of summer learning activities.
