    Ms. Smithson:  I grew up and went to school in Pennsylvania.  I moved to Alexandria, VA in 2002 and began my teaching career.  In 2015, I relocated to Cary and began working for WCPSS.

    Degrees/Certifications: B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology, Teacher certification Pre-K - 6th, Level 1 Google Certified Educator

    Ms. Ledford: My name is Amity Ledford and I am excited to be a part of the White Oak Elementary team! I grew up in a small mountain town outside of Asheville, NC. After graduating from NC State, I obtained my real estate license and worked as an associate broker. Following my years in real estate I returned to Raleigh and decided to pursue my passion for educating children. I am currently enrolled in an Elementary Education Masters program through Liberty University. Here at White Oak,  there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing children's faces light up when they learn something new!  Outside of school, I enjoy reading, antiquing, traveling, diy projects and outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking.

    Ms. Bobbitt: Hello! My name is Hannah Bobbitt and I am so excited to continue teaching Kindergarten at White Oak Elementary! I am originally from Laurinburg, NC, but moved to Raleigh for college and I fell in love with the city so I decided to stay. I graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Child Development and a Birth to Kindergarten NC Teaching Licensure. I love the beach and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy spending time at Carter-Finley Stadium cheering on my favorite football team (GO WOLFPACK!).

    Ms. Warren: Hello Explorers! I grew up outside of Harrisburg, Pa. and have lived in Cary for over 20 years. My mission is not only to help teach students but also to get to know and make connections with each student. It is so rewarding when working with students, to see them comprehend a new concept. I enjoy spending time with my family. I love running, reading, and listening to live bands. Two of my favorite places to hang out ..... I’m a big city girl at heart. Love going into a big city to explore, eat good food, and find live music. I also love going to the beach. My husband and I hope to retire at a beach someday!

    Ms. Bruce: I am very excited to be at White Oak this year! I have over 20 years of teaching experience mainly in Kindergarten and First Grade. I am coming from Olive Chapel Elementary where I taught Kindergarten for the past ten years.  I have two boys at Apex Friendship High School and we are glad to be on the same traditional calendar together. My husband’s name is Chris and he loves to fish on Jordan or Harris Lakes. Lastly, we have a big, goofy, yellow Labrador Retriever named Leo. We love to take hikes, bike ride, and travel to the beach and mountains.

    Ms. Chakraborty: Hello My Name is Sriparna Chakraborty aka Mimi. I'm excited to be a part of White Oak Elementary Kindergarten team. I grew up in India and moved to the states in Jan 2004 and have been here since then. My husband and I have 2 girls. When not at school I teach Dance. I love to sing and have been performing at local events.

    Ms. Beeler: My name is Ashtyn Beeler and I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year at White Oak Elementary! I graduated from Meredith College where I had many experiences teaching young children that brought me to have a passion for teaching. I was born in Illinois, but I grew up in Apex, NC. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my friends and family, and going to the beach. I am looking forward to a great year at White Oak Elementary!

    Ms. Ryder: I am very excited to be a part of the White Oak Elementary team.   I am originally from New York but my family and I have lived in Cary for 12 years.  I have several years of experience working with children and I was a WCPSS PreSchool Teacher Assistant for the past 6 years.  I love spending time with my husband and my two children who are currently at Apex High School.

    Ms. Plazas: I am elated to teach Kindergarten at White Oak Elementary this year! I have experience teaching K-3, but Kindergarten has my heart! I am a Carolina girl and I grew up by the beach. I graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a bachelor’s in elementary education. When I’m not using my teaching superpowers, I like to travel with my husband, spend time with our family and friends, and play with our dog, Bear, and two cats, Kylie and Zoe. I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year at White Oak!

    Ms. Odle: My name is Shana Odle and I am thrilled to be an Instructional Assistant at White Oak Elementary. I was born and raised in Virginia, but have called the Triangle home since 1995. My husband and I live in Cary with our three children, our dog, and our cat. I spent most of my career in the non-profit sector before switching to early childhood and elementary education five years ago. When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy photography, writing, baking, and reading.
