Ms. Greene: I am extremely excited to be a part of the White Oak Elementary family as the Instructional Facilitator and AIG curriculum support teacher! I started my teaching journey in Atlanta but I love calling Wake County home! When I’m not working with the students and staff at White Oak, I enjoy spending time with my husband Josh and two adorable little ones (Austin and Madison). I also love to cook, shop, attending concerts and enjoy a good run. I am looking forward to working with all the students, teachers and families at White Oak this year. I believe that strong curriculum is the foundation of exploration and learning! I know that all of our Explorers will be AMPLIFYING their learning this year!!

Ms. Molinaro: I have been teaching in Wake County Schools since 1996 (with a 3 year break along the way). I was a second grade teacher before becoming an intervention teacher and literacy coach. I live in Cary with my husband, 3 children, and 2 cats.

Ms. Bottoms: Hello! My name is Alissa Bottoms and I love serving as the School Counselor at White Oak Elementary! This will be my fourth year as a White Oak Explorer. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Master’s degree in School Counseling, from UNC-Chapel Hill. In my free time, I enjoy spending time at the beach with my family, reading, exercising, or attending UNC sporting events! I love working with children in any capacity, but find my true niche in the role of their school counselor where I can develop personal relationships with students and their families. I am looking forward to another great year!

Ms. Miller: Hello! My name is Rachel Miller and I will be the new part-time counselor at White Oak! I have always loved working with kids and feel like school counseling has been the perfect-fit job for me! This will be my fourth year doing what I love and this school year I aspire to help our students grow in the areas of academic achievement, socio-emotional development and career exploration through classroom guidance lessons, small groups and individual counseling. Outside of work I also enjoy family photography, hiking through the Blue Ridge mountains, drinking lots of coffee and spending time with my husband and our dog Maggie!

Ms. LaPorta: Hello Explorers! I am excited for another year at WOE. I am originally from Rochester, NY, but I moved to North Carolina many years ago. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in the elementary school setting. As a classroom teacher I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, and as a part time teacher I worked various roles such as a Read to Achieve teacher, enrichment specialist, home hospital teacher and Explorer/AIG teacher. One of my favorite things about working at White Oak Elementary is the diverse, friendly population. I am looking forward to a wonderful new year!
