Ms. Greene: I am extremely excited to be a part of the White Oak Elementary family as the Instructional Facilitator and AIG curriculum support teacher! I started my teaching journey in Atlanta but I love calling Wake County home! When I’m not working with the students and staff at White Oak, I enjoy spending time with my husband Josh and two adorable little ones (Austin and Madison). I also love to cook, shop, attending concerts and enjoy a good run. I am looking forward to working with all the students, teachers and families at White Oak this year. I believe that strong curriculum is the foundation of exploration and learning! I know that all of our Explorers will be AMPLIFYING their learning this year!!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time at the beach with my family, reading, exercising, or attending UNC sporting events! I love working with children in any capacity, but find my true niche in the role of their school counselor where I can develop personal relationships with students and their families. I am looking forward to a great year and am excited to get to know each of you. As White Oak Explorers, we will grow and learn together!"

Ms. LaPorta: I am originally from Rochester, NY, but I moved to North Carolina many years ago for teaching experience and stayed for the nice weather and wonderful people. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in the elementary school setting. As a classroom teacher I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. When I had my son in2013, I worked part time as a Read to Achieve teacher, specialist, home hospital teacher and Explorer/AIG teacher. My son is now 5, and I am back at work full time as an AIG teacher. One of my favorite things about working at White Oak Elementary is the diverse, friendly population.
