Ms. Kovacs: I love teaching 2nd grade; I have also taught Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and worked as a literacy interventionist. I have my Master’s and Undergraduate degree from Appalachian State. I love the mountains and the beach so being in the middle of the state is great. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being a doggy Mom, traveling, singing, reading, and being a lifelong learner. I have a passion for teaching, and I love to share that passion with my students each day!

Ms. Carr: I have been passionately teaching for over 25 years. I have enjoyed my ""learning"" years in PK-4th grade-spending the most time in my favorite grade, second (eleven years). I hold a BS in Accounting and earned my Masters Degree in Early Childhood from Kent State University. Several years later, I earned my license in Gifted Education. I just love learning (and teaching too)!! Then I reached my proudest career moment when I achieved National Board Certified Teacher status in November of 2014.
I live in Cary with my terrific husband and two amazing sons and our adorable dogs, Cupcake and Trixie. We love having fun and going on vacations together. We have been to Disney World over 22 times!! Shopping is my favorite ""sport""! I love searching for unique things at vintage markets, painting old furniture so that it looks groovy again, reading and watching historical fiction, and baking with my grandmother’s recipes. I love teaching with all my heart and can't imagine doing anything else.
