Dear White Oak Families,

Our newsletter has important information each week for the remainder of the school year. Thank you for taking the time to read it!

Quick Notes/Reminders:

  • All library books are now due. If you child has a library book still out, please return it to the media center ASAP.

Field Day Information

We are finishing off the school year with some Field Day fun! Coach Hughes and I are wrapping up the final details and resting up for those early morning setups, but it is worth it to see all the smiles and laughter on Field Day. Please make sure your student is ready for the day by checking out the information below:

DATE: Wednesday, June 7 (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade) or Thursday, June 8 (3rd - 5th Grade)

TIME: 9:30am - 12:30pm

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Towel

  • Complete change of clothes

  • Water Bottle (Place tape with name and teacher name)

  • Sunscreen (parents please apply before students come to school)

  • Optional: Hat or Sunglasses.

Students MUST wear sneakers for this event, since many of the activities will require running, jumping, and dodging. (Flip flops, Crocs, and sandals are NOT recommended for the morning, but would be fine for after the event.)

Field Day Parent Volunteers

The Field day sign up is full, but you are still welcome to come and help out. A full sign-up sheet puts 2 parents at each station, but there are definitely a few stations where we could use extra help.

Volunteers should arrive between 8:45-9am on the day. We will meet in the gym to pick station assignments and receive instructions. All parent volunteers will need to be at their station by 9:20, so we are ready for the kids at 9:30am. Remember to wear comfortable clothing for the weather and bring some water.

Thank you to everyone for supporting this event! It would not be a fun, successful event without your help.

Coach Brady

Student Devices

**ALL 1st-4th grade students will take home chromebooks and chargers for the summer. Students should only return the device if they are leaving WCPSS for a private school or a school outside of WCPSS.

5th Grade Tech Turn-In:

WCPSS has requested all 5th grade student devices and chargers be turned in, checked-in, and inventoried by the last week of school. Students are getting new computers and new cases when entering 6th grade.

  •  ALL 5th grade students left their devices AND chargers at school on Friday, May 26. They will remain at school for the remainder of the school year.

Medication Pick-Up

If your child has medication at school, please make sure you stop by the main office to pick it up by the last day - Friday, June 9. Medication cannot be sent home with students. Families will also receive a reminder letter.
