Hi there! I’m Jennie Morton, the school psychologist at Yates Mill Elementary. I am originally from a small town in Eastern NC, so my family frequently visited Wake County when we needed that “city-like” feeling. I currently live in Apex with my husband and we both love exploring all that Wake County offers as well as being closer to that “city-like” feeling.

I am an alumna of Campbell University (Go Camels!) where I majored in psychology. My love of working with students and supporting schools led me to get my specialist degree at Western Carolina University (Go Catamounts!) in School Psychology.

School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. My role involves collaborating with families, teachers, school administrators, and other Specialized Instruction Support Personal (SISP) to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments. As a school psychologist, my main focus is to help students succeed academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally!
