Hello! My name is Amy Henricks and I love being a part of the 3rd grade team at Yates Mill. I have always had a passion for working with children and I put these skills to use by building relationships with students and cultivating an environment where everyone feels seen and heard in the classroom.

I grew up in Charlotte, NC and moved to Raleigh to attend NC State University. I graduated with my degree in elementary education in 2023 and I have enjoyed living in the Raleigh area. I was drawn to teach at Yates Mill Elementary because of the great community and staff that make this school so special! Before entering the teaching profession, I have always enjoyed working with children, whether it be through my jobs as a summer camp counselor and swim lesson instructor.

When not in the classroom, I love exploring new parks and coffee shops in Raleigh. I take advantage of the local library to read new books in my free time. I also enjoy exercising and going on runs and you’ll probably catch me listening to Taylor Swift. When I get the chance to travel, I love going to the beach! I am grateful for the opportunity to get to work with your children this year!
