Kara Jordan, Intervention

Hello families! My name is Mrs. Jordan, and it is an honor to be the Intervention Facilitator and Intervention Teacher at RES! This is my 12th year teaching and my eighth year at Rolesville Elementary. I previously taught 1st and 2nd grade, but I am excited to be on this journey as a reading intervention teacher with students and families. Teaching reading is my passion!

I grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia, but I attended Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. There, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a minor in dance. In the summer of 2011, I moved down to Raleigh and got my first teaching job. Fast forward a few years, I just had to go to school again :). I finished my MAEd in Reading from East Carolina University in 2016.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Justin and our daughter Ava Grace going on walks, enjoying some local restaurants, or watching Bluey for the 1000th time. We are actually expecting our second baby girl this December, so life's about to get busier!

Lisa Fischer, ESL

My name is Lisa Fischer, and I have the privilege of working with students who are learning English as a second language (ESL).  I have enjoyed teaching children, ages 5-14, in a variety of settings since 2003.  When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, going camping, having fires, playing the guitar, and taking short trips in our beautiful state of North Carolina.  My favorite part of teaching is the connection I get to make with my students and doing whatever I can to support them as learners and citizens.
