My name is Jeannie Smith. I grew up in Florida and Louisiana. I love all things ocean, southern and creole. I am married with 3 children. I have two dogs, Wrigley and Carmen. They are pretty much my children too. I adore making memories with my family. When I was a child, I wanted to be many things. I wanted to be a marine biologist, an oceanographer, an actress and even a pediatric nurse. At one point in my life, I was brave enough to desire to swim with sharks. I am so thankful I chose to become an educator instead. I love what I do. I earned my degree at William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS. This will be my 22nd year teaching. I have coached teachers,  taught Pre-K 4, Kindergarten, first, second, and K-5 intervention. I began my teaching experience in MS and then continued it in LA. I have been teaching in NC for 15 years now. This will be my 13^th year teaching at NFP. I taught second grade for ten years here and am now an interventionist and a part of the Instructional Core Team. This school is my HOME! I love it here, and I am positive you will too! Outside of school I enjoy crafting, dancing, cooking, traveling, watching movies, spending time with friends and being outdoors.
