Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) in WCPSS is a practice through which students meeting qualifying criteria in grades K‐7 can take advanced academic content in mathematics or English/Language Arts (ELA) for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities. To qualify students must demonstrate their mastery of the content (either math or reading/writing) of the next grade level. Parents can nominate their child to be tested to see if he or she qualifies by returning the nomination form to Ms. LaPorta, our AIG teacher.  This page from the WCPSS website further explains the process and includes a link to the parent nomination form.  Nomination forms can be printed from the Wake County site, or you can pick them up in the front office at school.
