    Extracurricular activity offerings may vary from year to year.

     

    Athletics

    6th graders can serve as managers for our athletic teams. Mr. Bunn is the contact for students interested in managing athletic teams and he can be reached at wbunn@wcpss.net. 

     

    BETA Club

    BETA club is a service organization. Invitations to the BETA club are based on meeting certain academic requirements.  Invitations for 7th and 8th graders will be shared in the fall. Our contact for this club is school counselor, Hailey Bridgers. Ms. Bridgers can be contacted at hbridgers@wcpss.net. 

     

    Chess Club

    No matter your experience level, Chess Club will provide you with an opportunity to learn and play friendly games of chess against your peers as well as learn new strategies to improve your own game. Mr. Walvoord is the sponsor of this club and can be emailed at pwalvoord@wcpss.net for more information.

     

    FCCLA

    FCCLA is a club that is aligned to the Family and Consumer Science classes.  It is not a requirement to be in the course to be a part of the club. The club focuses on creating leadership traits and community service-based projects. Mrs. McLeod is the contact for FCCLA. Mrs. McLeod's email is jdmcleod@wcpss.net.

     

    PAAL

    The Garner Police Athletic / Activities League is a youth crime prevention program that utilizes educational, athletic, and recreational activities to create trust and understanding between police officers and youth. It is based on the conviction that if young people are reached early enough they can develop strong positive attitudes towards police officers. PAAL is dedicated to instilling in youth a value system emphasizing the need to respect and protect human rights as well as obey the laws of our city, state, and nation.     Spelling Bee

    Students have an opportunity to participate in our Spelling Bee! Spelling Bee Winners compete at the school and county levels, and may advance up to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.     Yearbook Club

    Students in the yearbook club learn about photography and photo layout. This club designs the layout for the North Garner Yearbook. Ms. Hodges Lester ("Ms. HL") is the contact for the Yearbook Club. Reach out to Ms. HL at mhodgeslester@wcpss.net

     

    Parents can get involved too!

    Our PTSA plays an integral role in the continued success of North Garner.  They provide support for our Arts and athletics programs, PBIS student recognition and awards, classroom technology and teacher appreciation activities. The North Garner PTSA provides opportunities for parents to volunteer or assist with a variety of projects and causes across campus.
