Melody C. Brunson, Principal

I am the proud principal of Sycamore Creek Elementary School since January 2018.  This is my 30th year in education, all of which have been at year-round schools. I am a teacher at heart and have continued to teach through all of my positions, including sixth grade teacher, fourth grade teacher, Instructional Resource Teacher, and Assistant Principal.  My personal mission at Sycamore Creek is to love, serve, challenge, and inspire ALL learners. I am so honored to be a member of such a loving, dedicated, and collaborative school community.  The students and staff are so enthusiastic about creating a supportive learning environment and make me so proud every day. I am overwhelmed by the support of the PTA and Sycamore Creek families, and I love that we are such a strong school community. This school year our Sycamore Creek Crocs celebrate that we are ON TOP OF THE WORLD!   I look forward to continuing to serve your children and families this year.

Minda Griffin, Assistant Principal

I am so proud to serve as the assistant principal at Sycamore Creek Elementary.  This is my first year as an assistant principal and my 24th year in education, all of which have been in elementary school. I started my Wake County teaching career at Leesville Elementary as a 5th grade teacher.  I then moved to Lynn Road Elementary as the Instructional Facilitator and then to Sycamore Creek as the Instructional Facilitator/Intervention Facilitator 4 years ago.   I believe that all students have the ability to learn and thrive in a school environment that is nurturing, student centered, and led by a teacher who holds high expectations for all of their students.  I am so honored to be part of a school community that shares this belief and works hard every day to love ALL, serve ALL and challenge ALL. I look forward to serving your children, our families and our staff!
