DRIVER ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE (DEC) INFORMATION
Process for Obtaining a Driver’s Eligibility Certificate (Students and Families)
Students who successfully complete a Driver Education Course will need a Driver Eligibility Certificate (DEC) when they go to the DMV to obtain their Permit/License. DEC's are processed in the Main Office at North Wake College and Career Academy and are valid for thirty (30) days.
In order to obtain a DEC students will need to bring:
-
Birth Certificate or Passport
-
Driver Education Completion Certificate to obtain their DEC. Please keep in mind the DEC's are only valid for thirty (30) days.
-
Proof of address if the current address is different than the one listed on the Driver’s Education Certificate or the address listed in Infinite Campus. Address must be verified for the NC Real ID.
Staff will check the student’s grades for adequate progress. The student must have passed 70% of the courses taken in the prior semester in order to receive a DEC.
Once grades have been verified and all other documents are in place, the DEC can be issued to the student.
