Hi, it’s Coach Hager and I’m starting my 22nd year of teaching elementary PE in Wake County and 29th year of coaching the sport of jump rope. Before teaching, I worked for 8 years as the Youth Sports Director at the Cary Family YMCA. Mrs. Hager, a UNC-Chapel Hill Teaching Fellow, and I have been married 28 years.  Our son, Will, and our daughter, Foster, both attend UNC- Chapel Hill now, and both came through WCPSS.  I graduated from Furman University (Greenville, SC) in 1992 with a Health & Exercise Science Degree, certified to teach PE and Biology.  I am an NC native, born in Wilson and grew up next to Western Carolina University in a small town (without a stoplight) called Webster, in a house on the side of a mountain.  I achieved National Board Certification in 2004 and have renewed since. I love cheering on the Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers.  When I’m not teaching, I enjoy board games, puzzles, exercising, fly fishing, being with my family and being outdoors.
