    Loren Pinkney, Assistant Principal

    About Ms. Livengood

I could not be more thrilled to be your principal at Brier Creek! As a native of Raleigh and a product of the Wake County Public School System, to now have the opportunity to lead this school is just surreal. My husband, also a devoted educator, and our two children live in the area and enjoy everything the wonderful city of Raleigh has to offer. We enjoy walking and biking the trails, swimming, checking out new restaurants, and, of course, shopping!
Prior to coming to Brier Creek, I served as the Assistant Principal at Banks Road Elementary for 5 years. I have also served as the AP/IRT at Holly Ridge Middle and as the Administrative Intern at Washington GT Magnet Elementary.  My career in WCPSS began at Middle Creek High School though, where I taught Sports Medicine, Emergency Response, & Healthful Living, and was the Head Athletic Trainer for 4 years and Head Swimming & Diving Coach for one year. Before returning to Wake County, I served as an Athletic Trainer and Instructor in the collegiate setting, both at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, NC, and at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC.
My favorite part of every day is greeting the children as they arrive at school in the morning. I love their smiles & hugs and how eager they are to share a tidbit of news with me! When I start to feel stuck behind my desk for too long, getting into classrooms and seeing what students are doing is what energizes me. I am truly excited about the work we are doing here at Brier Creek, the staff that is here for students, and the hope that I feel when I think about the future of our school!

    About Mr. Pinkney

I grew up in Columbus, Georgia and moved to North Carolina when I earned a football scholarship from NC State University. I graduated from NC State in education and went on to teach Middle School Math at West Lake Middle School. After getting my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology, I transitioned to a Network Administrator position at Southeast Raleigh High School. When I received his degree in School Administration, I transitioned to Garner High School and then to Lufkin Road Middle School in Assistant Principal positions. Overall, I have 24 years of experience in education and love coming to work every day in order to help students to be their best and do their best. I see education as a calling in my life and am passionate about helping students and working with the school community. After working in both the high school and middle school settings, I am so excited about the opportunity to work with elementary students at Brier Creek! I can't wait to make a great positive impact in the lives of Brier Creek Elementary students alongside the rest of the school staff.

Outside of school, I am actively involved in my church. I am a former part-time youth pastor and have been a youth group speaker, a mentor to youth, a counselor in the Upward Bound program, a tutor, and a homebound instructor. I have also been on several mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Ukraine where I worked with kids of all ages. I am an avid NC State sports fan and a big football fan in general. I am married with 3 children ages 19, 9, and 3.
