Wakefield Middle School will operate on an 8:30 – 3:15 p.m. bell schedule Monday through Friday except for the six identified early release days when WMS students are dismissed at 12:45 p.m. At 8:oo a.m., students are allowed to enter the building and are directed to the Gym until 8:10am when they are released to their team pods, to go to their lockers, and to then report to class. Remember that there is no adult supervision for students before 8:oo a.m. or after 3:30 p.m. except for scheduled tutoring and extracurricular activities. Students are to be picked up within fifteen minutes of scheduled afternoon or evening events. Students who eat breakfast should report directly to the Diner.There are six period of instruction each day, with four periods of core classes, and two elective classes. Students generally stay on-team in their pod area for Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, and travel off-team to attend elective classes. First period serves as homeroom class, and WOLF Time will be used creatively throughout the year for a variety of academic and community-building activities.
