Sycamore Creek Elementary School first opened for students on a multi-track year-round calendar on July 7, 2008. Mrs. Kristen Faircloth was named the first principal of Sycamore Creek. For the first six weeks of school, students, faculty, and staff were housed at Hilburn Drive Elementary School. On August 18, 2008, a brand-new, two-story school building was completed, and Sycamore Creek moved to the new school. In 2018, Sycamore Creek earned the distinction of being named a National Banner School of Inclusion and has continued to maintain this distinction since then. In 2018, Mrs. Melody Brunson became Sycamore’s second principal and is still serving today. In 2022, Sycamore Creek collapsed Track 2 and now operates with three year round tracks.
