• After School Program

    The After School Program operates from the end of the regular school day until 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Only children attending Farmington Woods IB/PYP Elementary in the 2023-24 school year may enroll in the program.

    A daily snack is provided for the students. Parents must come to the cafeteria door with a photo ID to sign out their child each day. In addition to late pick-up fees, students may be removed from the program for excessive late pick-ups. 

    The program will be staffed with FWES staff and follow all WCPSS guidelines regarding student and staff health and safety.  

    Inclement Weather:
    If school closes early due to inclement weather, the After School Program will not operate. Parents will indicate on the After School Application how students should be dismissed if school closes early. 

     

    After School Registration at Farmington Woods

    We are pleased to be able to offer the After School program AT Farmington Wood and staffed by FWES school staff for the 2023-24 school year.

    Brian Walsh (bwalsh@wcpss.net) will be the coordinator of our after-school program in 2023-24. Rachel Sweeney (rwsweeney@wcpss.net), Assistant Principal intern, will be the administration contact for the program. 

    Registration will align with the requirement ratio of 1 adult to 25 students and based on staffing and space available. We will begin the 2023-24 school year with seats for a maximum of 100 students. 

    Registration Process:

    • UPDATE: Program is at capacity. Please complete the form to be added to the waitlist. Link to form. Wednesday, August 2nd- Online Sign Up for FWES After School program opens at 9:00am. Registrations will be first come first served until the maximum number of students is reached in the program. 
      • The link for online sign up will be placed on the Information Bar of the FWES Website and will become active at 9:00am on Wednesday, August 2nd. 
      • Review a copy of the sign up form so you are prepared to complete it on August 2nd. Note: The online registration "line" is typically fills the program within 5-7 minutes of the form being activated- so knowing what will be asked will assist families
        • "Family Code" is the section that may take some advanced planning- so be sure to review it:) 
    • Email sent 8/2/23: Thursday, August 3rd- Notification Day- Families notified if they have reserved a “seat” in the program or if they have been placed on the waitlist. Families with a seat will sign up for an appointment to drop off enrollment materials. If a family cannot submit in person, mailing materials will be an option. 
    • Wednesday, August 9th and Thursday, August 10th- Families with a student to enroll in the program will come to school at their assigned appointment time to submit required forms and pay initial enrollment fees.  
    • Friday, August 11th- If seats remain available after in-person registration, families from the wait list will be notified for placement. 

    Note $15 registration fee is due at registration to confirm a seat in the program. Payment for the program's first months is due on the 1st day of School- August 29th- but can also be included when completing the registration process to avoid a late payment with the busy start of the year.     All initial payments for registration and the first month's payment must be made with a check or money order. No cash is accepted. After registration is completed, families can use online resources to submit payment for the remaining 8 months of the program.

    Forms Required for Registration (print or come by the school to pick up a printed copy to complete if you are registering for the program): 

    • After School Application (English) (Spanish) - 1 per child- must be completed, printed, and signed (no electronic signature accepted) to submit with the registration fee in person on August 9th and/or 10th. Families will sign up for a time to complete the registration process.  

    • Certification of Accident Insurance- complete and sign for registration
