Teacher Appreciation Week!  We are excited to celebrate teacher and staff appreciation week this week.  Thank you to all of the parents and our amazing PTA who have planned so many ways to let teachers and staff know they are valued.  Please take a moment to send your child’s teachers an email or a note letting them know they are appreciated. 

 

StarMath EOY Assessments will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday in all math classes. 

 

Year 3 students taking Spanish 1 for High School Credit with Mrs. Prijatel: Day 1 of the exit exam is approaching! Please ask to see your child's study outline and support their practice strategies!

Student Council News:   Elections for rising Year 2 and 3 students interested in running for Student Council positions will be held over the coming weeks. Please note the following dates:

Thurs April 27^th - Interest meeting held during both lunches

Friday May 5^th - Application form, campaign slide and poster due

May 8^th - 12^th - Election week with voting on 5/12

Board Advisory Council Update April 17th, 2023 WCPSS District 3 School Board Advisory Council (BAC) Meeting

Our school board member, Dr. Wing Ng, reviewed the timeline for hiring a new superintendent for Wake County Public Schools. More information regarding the superintendent search and timeline can be found at https://www.wcpss.net/domain/20935

Congratulations to West Millbrook’s Percussion Ensemble who earned a rating of EXCELLENT in the East Central Solo and Ensemble Festival!

 

 

YEAR 3 STUDENT ATHLETES high schools are starting to host "meet the coach" information nights- mark your calendars!

$10 sports physicals! Is your child interested in participating in sports next year? Take advantage on May 18, 2023 with EmergeOrtho (click)  or pick another date offered by OrthoNC (click). All physicals are good for 395 days.

 

 

Student Academic Celebrations were held on Thursday.  Students enjoyed ice cream and games, and we enjoyed celebrating their successes with them! 

 

 

WCPSS Teacher of the Year Banquet was held on Thursday.  Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year Susan Arnold!

WMMMS PTA GENERAL MEETING NOTICE - ELECTION OF OFFICERS

We hope you can make the last PTA General meeting - THURSDAY, May 4 from 6:30pm-7:15pm in the media center!  Everyone that attends will be entered in a drawing to win a PTA logo blanket or koozie! We will also need your vote to approve the 2023-2024 Officers! The following slate has been nominated:

Wildcat Booster News:  Wow, have our spring sport athletes done a great job representing West Millbrook.

 

May brings thoughts about next year. If you are interested in supporting the WMMMS Athletic community we want you! We are now using this form to collect contact info from anyone (future 6th, 7th or 8th grade families) that wishes to be on our list to hear about opportunities to be decision makers and board members, help out, or join meetings/events! We would love anyone who would like to support our athletic program. If you are a parent, your child does not have to be on a team, just enjoy athletics.

 If you are interested in a board position or being a serving member, please join us at the next meeting Tuesday, May 9th at 5:15 pm in the media center. The agenda contains voting in board members for next year and summer camp planning.
