Dear Rand Road Families,

Good afternoon, this is Tammy Carey, your Principal, with your weekly message. I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.

We would like to thank the PTA for our Cultural Arts performance entitled “Cherokee Tales”. It was an informative, funny and engaging performance, teaching students some of the stories of the Native American tribe of the Cherokee.

This week, 4th graders will take their first NC Reading Check-In on Tuesday. Third grade students will take their first Reading Check-In on Wednesday.

Several grade levels will be going on field trips this week, including Kindergarten students who will be going to Smith’s Nursery and Farm, 1st graders will explore at Clemmons Educational Park, and 4th Grade will attend the NC Symphony. Payments can be made using SchoolCash Online. The link can also be found on our website under the heading Families, then Online Payments.

We are recognizing Red Ribbon Week, which promotes drug-free living. The spirit days have been arranged to align with field trips. Please save costumes for trick-or-treat events. Garner High is hosting a “Too cute to spook” trunk or treat event at the high school on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6:00-8:00pm. We will post the flier with this information on Class Dojo.

Monday– We say no to drugs! Wear Red!

Tuesday– Team up against drugs! Wear your favorite team gear!

Wednesday– Drugs make a mess, dress in your best!

Thursday– Stand strong together, wear your Rand Road shirt or a yellow shirt.

Friday– Put drugs to rest and wear your Pajamas!

All families received a Recipe Card to highlight our diversity through the common love of food! Please return these with your children so we can compile a Rand Road Recipe Book reflecting our entire Rand Road family. The deadline for submitting the recipe cards to be included is Friday, Nov. 8, 2024.

Thank you for your cooperation in following WCPSS safety protocols. In order to keep everyone safe, everyone visiting a school, for any reason, is required to sign in at the front office. For an easier check-in process, please have a driver’s license or state-approved ID from any state with you.

We will see everyone tomorrow morning! Have a great afternoon!
