Weekly Message from Ms. Jones

Weekly Messages

  • Week of June 8

Good evening everyone. This is Rhonda Jones, the proud principal of Rand Road Elementary
School. I hope that everyone is doing well as we head into this final week of school. I would be
remiss if I didn’t share with everyone, how hard the last two weeks have been. We hope that
you have been able to have conversations with your children regarding the recent events as
you deem appropriate. As a school, we will continue efforts to support our students and staff
in understanding the importance of acceptance of each other, both our similarities and our
differences. We believe that every Rand Road student is deserving of a loving and respectful
environment and we remain committed to our work. We have a very busy week ahead as
teachers wrap up instruction. On Tuesday and Thursday, we have pick up and drop off of
materials. Yearbooks will be distributed with student materials. The PTA has a few yearbooks
available and they can be purchased for $20 cash on a first come basis. On Wednesday, we will
have our 5th grade, drive through celebration so that we can congratulate each student as they

prepare to move on to middle school. It will be so nice to see each of you this week, even at a
distance. I will continue reaching out to you over the summer to provide updates to our
calendar, to share information regarding returning to the building. But for now, know that I am
honored to have worked with you through these challenging times. Have a great evening.
