Dear Rand Road Families,

Good afternoon, this is Tammy Carey, your Principal, with your weekly message. This is our final week of school before fall track-out!

I enjoyed coffee and conversation last Monday with the parents that were able to come. It was a nice time of fellowship and sharing ideas. We will do another one soon.

Our 5th grade classes had a great overnight trip to Blue Jay Point County Park. Thank you to the 5th grade teachers, Mr. Casasanto and Ms. Davis for leading this adventure and a huge shout-out to all the parents who volunteered as chaperones. We experienced rain and sunshine. It is certain to be an experience they will always remember.

This week, our Kindergarten and 3rd grade classes both have outdoor field trips enjoying and exploring this beautiful fall weather. It is our goal to have all students attend field trips regardless of their ability to pay. If you need assistance for field trip funds, please contact our Guidance Counselors, Ms. Harris (K-2nd) or Ms. Irving (3rd-5th). If you would like to contribute to our field trip fund to help cover the cost for those in need, you may write a check to Rand Road Elementary and designate Field Trip fund in the memo line.

As we wrap up this final week of the first quarter and get ready to head into Fall Track-out, please make sure you have signed up for a parent/teacher conference. We want to ensure that together we can help your child be successful and provide resources for you to support their learning at home. If you have more than one child, teachers will work to schedule them close together on the same day to maximize the use of your time.

All families received a Recipe Card to highlight our diversity through the common love of food! Please return these with your children so we can compile a Rand Road Recipe Book reflecting our entire Rand Road family.

Thank you for your cooperation in following WCPSS safety protocols. In order to keep everyone safe, everyone visiting a school, for any reason, is required to sign in at the front office. For an easier check-in process, please have a driver’s license or state-approved ID from any state with you.

See you soon!
