Dear Rand Road Families, 

Good afternoon, this is Tammy Carey, your Principal, with your weekly message. I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend! Remember, there is No School tomorrow in observance of Labor Day.

Traditional school has started, bringing the expected traffic delays. This is likely to continue through next week, and we will then have a better idea of what times buses will generally arrive at campus in the afternoon. WCPSS sends out messages when they are aware of a delay. Parents, if you decide to come and pick up your student due to a bus delay, please remember to bring in your ID to make the check-out procedure move quickly. If you are picking up your child during carpool, please have your carpool tag clearly displayed on your front window. As a reminder, for safety reasons, we ask that carpool traffic lines up towards the neighborhood and not the construction site towards 50 during arrival and dismissal times. Also, please keep the crosswalk clear for our student walkers. Thank you for your cooperation.

Our GoPlaySave fundraiser deadline is this Wednesday! Let’s make this final push to reach our goal. Your contributions really help the school. Plus, the savings in the GoPlaySave books help you save money on events and places to eat!

The Fall Book Fair is coming next week! Watch Class Dojo for important information! All students will have the opportunity to preview and purchase items during school. Families may also purchase on Family Night or online. There is also a way to set up an ewallet for your student that will work as a gift card.

Next Thursday, 9/12/24, Rand Road Elementary will become our Superhero Math Mall! Bring your child for some fun activities, free items to take home, and information for parents on how to best help your child be successful in math! The event is from 5:30-7:00 pm. Food trucks will be available if you are looking to grab some dinner or snacks as well. But, the fun does not stop there! Our fall Book Fair is also happening in the Media Center next week. It will be open for families to make purchases that night! It is certain to be a fun night. We hope you can all make it!

We will continue to use SchoolCash Online (SCO) to pay for field trips. This removes the need for teachers to receive and receipt money each morning, allowing them to focus on greeting students and getting started with learning.  

We continue to appreciate your cooperation in following WCPSS safety protocols. In order to keep everyone safe, everyone visiting a school, for any reason, is required to sign in at the front office. For an easier check-in process, please have a driver’s license or state-approved ID from any state with you.
