Dear Rand Road Families, 

Good afternoon! This is Tammy Carey, your Principal, with your weekly message. I hope your weekend has been fantastic! It was a busy first week back! I know students and teachers are ready for the weekend.

Report cards from the 3rd Quarter went home on Friday as well as a family survey. We are asking all families to complete the paper survey and return it to their homeroom teacher with their signed report card envelope tomorrow. Please return the survey in the large envelope provided and do not bend it in half or staple it. The purpose of the survey is to:

• Support school sites in creating and strengthening partnerships with families
• Strengthen family engagement to support strong student academic and social outcomes for students

The envelopes will be delivered to the office and sent to the company to be scanned for results. We will use the results to guide our family engagement efforts. Please contact the main office if you have any questions.

Wednesday, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will take their final NC Reading Check-In. Please get students to school on time and well rested.

Thursday, May 2 is Spring Picture Day. Class pictures will also be taken on this day. Order forms went home on Friday. Order forms for the yearbook also went home last week. Yearbooks can be purchased for $15

On Thursday evening at 6:00 there is a 5^th grade parents' meeting regarding the upcoming human growth and development unit and the Washington, DC trip. The meeting can be accessed in person or virtually.  

Spring Carnival is this Saturday, May 4, from 2-5pm! The Spring Carnival will feature inflatables, games, prizes, the fire department, food trucks, over 30 raffle items donated by the community in addition to our class-themed baskets!  Raffle tickets and game wristbands can be pre-purchased for a discount at www.randroadpta.com.  You can also sign up to volunteer at the event on the website as well.

Families, please send in any class raffle basket donations by May 1.  If you need a reminder of your class theme, please contact your student's teacher.
