SPIKETM Prime Robots for Reedy Creek

Congratulations to Mrs. McKenna for her successful Donors Choose project! Thanks to our wonderful and supportive Reedy Creek community, she was able to raise enough money to purchase 12 LEGO SPIKE Prime robots! This is a major step toward our goal of switching all Robotics and Mechatronics 1 classes from LEGO EV3 robots to new SPIKE Primes. Many thanks, RCMMS families! For those who still wish to donate to our program, Mr. Boehm will be launching a SPIKE Prime Donors Choose soon. Please be on the lookout for more information.

Carpool Reminders

Thank you for a smooth first week! It was very nice to see all of our carpool families to start the day. Please note: Morning carpool riders may exit their cars once the full line in front of them has stopped. The drop zone for stopped cars runs from the top of the sidewalk (look for an orange cone and one of our teachers) past the breezeway, loading dock, and all the way to the fire hydrant.

For the afternoon carpool, we ask that families display their carpool tag until after their student has entered the vehicle. This will help staff to repeat the student’s name and speed up the dismissal process for everyone. Need a new tag? Have your student stop by the office and we will send one home.

Thank you for helping us have a safe and efficient carpool lane.

Buses

Our students have done a great job with getting on the right bus, but please continue to make sure that your student knows which route they are on, not the bus number. The bus number can change due to drivers being out, a bus needing to be repaired, or a variety of other reasons, but their route number will never change. Also, please be aware that if you have requested transportation, it may take several days for your student to be added to a bus because many of our routes are at capacity. Please email Mr. Warren (swarren@wcpss.net) with any questions regarding transportation.
