OCE OPEN ART SUBMISSIONS:

3rd-5th Grade OCE Students are Invited to sign up here to exhibit their "Under the Sea" inspired original Artwork.  Students are encouraged to work as an individual artist or collaborate with a partner on creating a unique work of art to be displayed in the 2nd Official Annual Art Exhibition which is a part of the OCE Arts Showcase Night!

 

Art Exhibition INFO & REQUIREMENTS for STUDENTS:

• Only "UNDER THE SEA"  Themed Artwork will be accepted. 
• 1 Submission per Student
• Artwork Must be Titled
• STUDENT'S NAME & TEACHER NAME TURNED IN WITH ARTWORK***
• Artwork should not be too large to display or too small to see!
• Complete this Form!
• Deliver Artwork to Ms. Barlow by October 4th, 2024 :)

 

*** PLEASE MAKE SURE THE STUDENT’S FULL NAME  (FIRST & LAST) & TEACHER'S NAME ARE LEGIBLE OR SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE ARTWORK!***

 

NOTES & REMINDERS FOR ARTISTS:

• Artwork is finished & complete before delivering to Ms. Barlow! (Unfinished art will not be accepted.)
• Remember WOW Art. (Wonderful Original Works of Art) 
• THiNK! Elements of Art (Line, Shape, Color, Texture, etc.), Symbols, Details, Composition (Arrangement)
• What is the Story you are telling? What do you want people to See? How do you want people to Feel?
• USE YOUR KNOWLEDGE & DO SOME EXTRA RESEARCH ON WHAT YOU ARE CREATING! (e.g. look up PICTURES & FACTS of the fish, shark, or other sea creatures & plants you are working to create.)

If you are serious about entering the Art Exhibition, but time and/or lack of materials are preventing you from participating, please contact Ms. Barlow right away. All students have the right to be able to showcase their talents in our school wide Art Exhibit for the Arts Showcase.  I know there are many artistic creatives in our school and I want everyone to feel confident and comfortable in submitting to our Art Exhibition.

A MESSAGE FROM MS. BARLOW:

PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.  Artists of ALL ages are invited and encouraged to enter a number of different Art Exhibits & Gallery Shows across the WORLD!  This is a way for you to begin to understand the process of sharing your artwork with the public.  As an artist, this can be a time consuming and stressful process that can sometimes lead to frustration and disappointment.  Most Curators (Managers or Creators of the Art Exhibit/Show), organize exhibits around ideas and themes that are interesting to them! Be aware of your Audience (Who is LOOKING) and share your Artwork that is both meaningful to you and contributes to the conversation of the Art Exhibition.  With that in mind: This art exhibition show is "Under the Sea" themed.  Think about what that means to you and how you would like to share those ideas with others through your artwork.  Do not limit yourself - let your thoughts ripple through ideas of what is "Under the Sea."

 

PLEASE NOTE: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade students should NOT fill out this FORM!  K- 2 will be working IN CLASS on artwork that will be displayed during the Arts Showcase Nights!  (EVERYONE is invited to the OCE ARTS SHOWCASE NIGHT to Participate in Celebrating the many Talents of our students at OCE.  This night is to highlight and recognize the hard work, passion, and dedication, that our students, teachers, and families put into fostering & valuing the many creative talents displayed and honored at OCE.)
