OCE Families,
That was a short and sweet week! We hope you all enjoyed the snow days; as we know, we won’t get many! We’re happy to have the students back in the building and we’ve rescheduled our Science Fairs for next week. Please see the new dates below as well as some additional school updates:
Science Fair is rescheduled for next week!
Our OCE Science Fair is next week! Our K-2 Science Fair is on Tuesday, January 28th at 6:00 p.m. and the 3-5 event is on Wednesday, January 29th at 6:00 p.m. This year, the 3-5 component will be competitive and the winners will be eligible to compete in the regional competition. We are so excited for these two events!
Heart Challenge Begins
On Monday (1/27), we officially kick off Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association, and we need your help! Over the next few weeks students will be learning about heart health and raising awareness for the American Heart Association.
Our school's goal is for every student and family to know Hands-Only CPR and the warning signs of a stroke by signing up online and completing Finn’s Mission! Find more information here: Heart Challenge Information.
Reading Night on February 13
We’re hosting a school-wide Family Reading Night on February 13 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. There will be opportunities to learn about reading instruction here at school and ways to support your reader at home. It’ll be fun and informative, and we hope to see you there!

Valentine’s Dance
Our PTA will be hosting a Valentine’s Dance for grades K-2 on February 20th and grades 3-5 on February 21st. This dance is for students and one special adult guest. This is NOT a drop off event and students must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available for pre-sale only until February 18 and they will be delivered to your child's classroom the week of the dance. Click here to purchase tickets or click here for more details!

Chorus Club for 4th and 5th grade Students
The Chorus Club is now open for the Spring ‘25 semester. You can find more information in the Application Letter from Ms. McConnell. If your child is interested in joining the Chorus Club, please complete this Application. Track 4 is due by February 3rd.
