Principal Message, September 2, 2024
Good afternoon MPMS Leopard families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. We had a great first week of school and are looking forward to another week at the park. Please place September 24th on your calendars for our MPMS Curriculum Night.
Afterschool clubs are beginning to have interest meetings this week. Please look on the club's website here for more information. There is a Robotics Interest meeting on Thursday.
Tryouts begin this week for MP Football, Volleyball, Cheer, and Girls Soccer.
Approximate end times: Tuesday through Friday next week. Unless otherwise communicated by the coach.
Soccer- 4:30
Volleyball- 4:45
Football- 5:15
Cheer- 5:30
If your child has not completed the paperwork and has been cleared, Tuesday at 9 a.m. is a hard stop for Mr. Babsob to process students. If papers arrive after that time, he cannot promise that your child will be processed in time for tryouts at 3 p.m.
Have your athletes stay hydrated while away from school and encourage them to drink plenty of fluids during the school day.
When you arrive to pick up your athlete they must be picked up in the back parking lot by the basketball courts. Do not pick up in other locations, as your child should be monitored during pick up by staff. When the season starts, certain sports will be picked up in different locations to alleviate traffic.
Please park in spots if you arrive prior to 5:15. Leaving the fire lane open is important for traffic to continue to flow appropriately when a large number of cars arrive and leave at the same time.
Football, Soccer, and Volleyball will post what athletes should return the next day for tryouts. The post will be located on the athletics website under the specific sport. Scroll your cursor over sports, and you will see the sports options. Cheer will get out directions to the girls, as to how they select members.
We hope all of our Leopards had a fantastic first week of school! As you settle into your Fall routine, remember, it's not too late to join the PTSA!
