Principal Message, August 18, 2024
Good evening MPMS Leopard families,
We are excited about seeing everyone later this week as we begin the 2024-2025 school-year. I am pleased to be starting my sixth year as the Principal of Mills Park Middle School. It is a great place to work and learn.
Today marks the beginning of the weekly emails to ensure transparency of communication. You will receive weekly emails/ texts from me about school-wide events and updates.
We understand that the transition to middle school may be very different from the experience in elementary school. We have created a Family Handbook to guide families through this transition.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the MPMS Family Handbook regarding procedures for carpool, dropping off items, etc.
Meet the Teacher Events
Parents and students will follow a set schedule where they will have an opportunity to follow their child’s schedule, meet the teachers, join the PTSA and purchase spirit wear, join the athletic booster, and sign-up for PowerSchool, put money on your child’s lunch account, transportation, and much more! We look forward to seeing you there!
All students will be provided an opportunity to purchase breakfast and lunch each day. Breakfast costs $1.75 and lunch will cost $3.75.
Families are welcome to bring general materials for the classroom to Meet the Teacher. We have tried to reduce the amount of weight for backpacks this year. Here is the supply list in case you haven't seen it on our website.
Parents, if your student is enrolled, has a school assignment that provides for neighborhood or express school bus transportation, and wishes to use this service on a regular basis, go to Bus Rider Registration to apply.
It is a good time to get a jump start on Volunteer Registration for the new school year. All 2023-24 approved volunteers received an email on July 1 from no-reply@criminalrecordcheck.com with a link to renew your approved volunteer status for the 2024-25 school year. It only takes a few minutes to renew.
If you are new to the process, please click on this link to create your account. If you have any issues during the renewal process, contact the MyVolunteer customer support team at 877-272-0266 or customercare@mycrc.com.
At MPMS, the PTSA works hard to support the staff, students, and their families. Please take a moment and join the PTSA and consider getting involved. Keep a lookout for opportunities to volunteer at MPMS.

We look forward to partnering with all of our families. Have a wonderful evening!
Warmly,
Dr. Stephanie Raiford, Principal
