Principal's Weekly Message -3/9/25

Happy Sunday, Pride Families,

Kudos to the LRHS technical and performing theatre students for their fantastic spring musical, "Freaky Friday." This incredible show was truly a team effort, thanks to the dedicated Arts teachers: Mr. Hurley, Mrs. Wranyo, Ms. Dickens, Mrs. Carr, and Ms. Hackman, who worked together to bring the musical to life. The performance took place earlier than usual in the school year, and despite a couple of "snow days," the talent of everyone involved shone through. We take great PRIDE in the staff and students of our arts program at LRHS.

Thank you to the senior parents who helped with the "Senior Breakfast." The seniors enjoyed the food and their time with friends, and we could not have made it happen without your assistance.

Class of 2025 - Cap & Gown Distribution

Cap & Gown Distribution Day is Tuesday, March 11, during both lunch periods in the Auxiliary Gym.  Here are a few reminders and requests to help things run smoothly as we distribute items to over 500 seniors.

Seniors should plan to stay on campus during their lunch periods, as it will be difficult to tend to the tasks at hand and go off campus for lunch.

Seniors should come to the Aux Gym during their designated lunch period so that the crowd is balanced between the A and B Lunch periods.

ALL seniors will:

  • Check-in with your counselor to confirm the spelling of your legal name (to be printed on your diploma).
  • Receive their senior gift/favor.

Seniors who have ORDERED and PAID through Jostens will:

  • Receive their cap & gown package.
  • Receive select other products (e.g., announcements).

Seniors who QUALIFY will:

Receive Latin honors cords based on weighted GPA (not rounded) through the first semester of senior year.

  • Cum Laude:  3.75 - 3.999
  • Magna Cum Laude:  4.0 - 4.249
  • Summa Cum Laude:  4.25+

Seniors who APPLIED and who MEET THE CRITERIA will:

Receive LRHS Scholar Athlete cords based on the established criteria:

  • Played the same Varsity LRHS-sanctioned sport for two years
  • Weighted GPA of 3.5 (not rounded) through the first semester of senior year

ACT Testing

LRHS will follow this bell schedule on Thursday, March 13, to accommodate the ACT.  All participating juniors received their room assignments via email.
