Principal's Weekly Message - 6/2/24
Happy Sunday, Pride Families,
Kudos to Mrs. Dickens, the LRHS chorus teacher, the LRHS chorus members, and the LRHS Capital Pride Chorus members for a fantastic chorus concert on Wednesday, May 29. I especially thank the Capital Pride Chorus members for their beautiful rendition of the song "I Hope You Dance" at the Senior Assembly on Friday, May 31.
Congratulations to the Pride Guitar Club (PGC)! This was their very 1st year, and they were headed up by Mr. Yelverton and Mr. Bacon. The club had six awesome members (3 seniors graduating), practiced twice per week, performed six times over the school year, including launch events and Lunch Jams, and learned/played 20 songs. PGC looks to do even more next year. Here are the members who started it all:
- James Tyner (9th)
- Maria DeMartino (10th)
- Ben Bradley (10th)
- Rachel Hung (12th)
- Emma Julian (12th)
- Devlyn Upchurch (12th
Thank you to Mr. Greene, Mrs. Oxendine, and the counseling department for planning and organizing an extraordinary senior assembly and picnic. We look forward to graduating these amazing seniors on Sunday, June 9.
Thank you to the families who purchased Legacy Bricks this year! The project, organized by LRHS PAC, is complete and can be seen inside the LRHS football stadium. We are excited to offer this opportunity again at the start of the new school year.
