Happy Super bowl Sunday, Pride Families,

 

Kudos: Last weekend, the LRHS Science Olympiad team competed at the Raleigh Regional Tournament. Our team received medals in 5 events, and although we fell short of a bid to state, we had lots of team spirit and felt proud of what we could do against the toughest competition in the state. 

We are incredibly proud of these young scholars. Here are the teams and their awards below:

• Air Trajectory: Leo Zhang and Nebai Araya 5th place
• Flight: Anjali Kalanidhi and Tasneem Mehdi 5th place
• Wind Power: Anjali Kalanidhi and Stacey Wang 5th place
• Forensics: Kesav Kalanidhi and Tori Parsons 6th place
• Optics: Anjali Kalanidhi and Kesav Kalanidhi 7th place

 

Attention Juniors! - The ACT on February 27 

We will administer the ACT to all 11th-grade Students on February 27 at 7:25 am. 

2nd Period Teachers will distribute personalized letters with ACT Codes and the Taking the ACT Brochure to all 11th-grade students scheduled to take the ACT on Monday, February 12. Ms. Arwood also emailed this information to students on Monday, February 5. All students should follow the directions to set up an ACT account so that they will have access to their ACT scores. We recommend students use a personal email when setting up their account. Students will receive their room assignments via email from Ms. Arwood this week.

We strongly encourage students to complete the tutorial to familiarize themselves with the testing application and the types of questions before test day. Log out of your Chromebook and find TestNav under APPS, select The ACT (top left), and then Practice Tests at the bottom of the screen. You can complete the tutorial. Practice is also available for all four sections separately. The writing test will not be included on February 27.
