This is Ian Solomon, Principal of Leesville Road High School with important transportation tips to assist with getting your student to and from school as efficiently as possible.
All carpool traffic should access Pride Way in the morning and afternoon. Drop-off and Pick-up should occur in the driveway in front of the school. Dropping off on the street fronting the school or the bus parking lot increases traffic backups and lessens efficiency. When entering campus for pick-up and drop-off, you can form two lines up to the crosswalk in front of the school. We ask that you pull up as close to crosswalk as possible to get cars off Pride Way. You should not pick up or drop students off in the circle on the back side of campus.
If you are using WCPSS Transportation, please be sure that you and your student check Powerschool to make sure you know your bus route. Please do not memorize the bus number because that number is subject to change, but the bus route will remain constant.
In closing, I want to thank all of you for a largely successful first day of school. Please encourage your student to make sure they are following all established safety protocols throughout the day; most importantly the proper wearing of face masks when inside the building.
Thank you for supporting Leesville Road High School as we take PRIDE in everything we do!
