Senior Picture Submission for the Virtual Graduation Ceremony

High School Seniors and Parents,

This correspondence contains important, time-sensitive instructions for WCPSS Seniors. Please read it carefully.

As shared with you last week, one significant way we are celebrating the Class of 2020 is through a virtual graduation experience. This event is in addition to the onsite celebration that your individual school is hosting.

In preparation for the virtual graduation, we are going to be opening a Student Portal which will contain the following information: (1) the student name, (2) a senior portrait if we had access to that, and (3) notations about honor graduates and NC Scholars designations where appropriate.

Please take a few minutes starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20 to review your information and verify that everything is correct. You will receive an email on the morning of the 20th with a link to the Student Portal.

We are also giving seniors the option to upload a new photo for use during graduation. If you

choose to do so, please follow these guidelines:

  • The photo should be a senior portrait or a photo of the student in their cap & gown.
  • The photo must be taken in a vertical orientation (Portrait)
  • The photo must be a minimum of 720-pixel resolution on the longest edge.

If you choose not to have your photo included, please let us know via the Student Portal.  The Student Portal will close at promptly 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, so please verify your information as soon as possible. We will not be able to make further changes after 6 p.m. on May 21.

We can’t wait to celebrate your accomplishments and send you off to your next great adventure.

If you have questions, please contact Brian Pittman, Senior Director for High School Programs, at bpittman@wcpss.net.
